UPC Hungary has announced that it has secured regulatory approval for the acquisition of RubiCom.
The latter was until now the country’s eighth largest cable operator, delivering TV, internet and telephony services to 63,000 homes in 80 villages.
UPC Hungary now plans to be provide the majority of these home with its full offer of services, which include a DVR product and Fiber Power at speeds of up to 120 Mbps, from this May.
UPC Hungary ended 2011 with 323,100 analogue and 290,300 digital cable subscribers.
Its DTH platform UPC Direct meanwhile had 219,300 customers.
