The Dutch premium football channel has launched a second screen platform, Eredivisie Live Sidekick. The broadcaster said that during the first weekend, some 50,000 viewers accessed the service.
Arno de Jong, director media and marketing Eredivisie Live, said the launch was very successful: “With an audience of 50,000 men during the weekend of the launch, we are very satisfied. Equally important is also that we received many positive and enthusiastic responses, particularly through social media.”
Eredivisie Live Sidekick is an interactive website that is supports the live games on TV by providing additional information. The viewer is provided with a wide range of game statistics, videos, analysis, interviews, quiz questions and statements.
During the live game the viewers can also react to events and give their opinion. The results are shown on the actual TV screen. Eredivisie Live Sidekick is suitable for laptops, tablets and PCs and is free for anyone to use.
