Spain’s Telefónica gained 29,000 pay-TV subscribers in the last quarter of 2011 in its domestic market, ending the year with a total of 833,000.
This represented an increase of 6% on a year earlier.
The number of fixed broadband subscribers meanwhile stood at 5.6 million, with a net addition of 1,000 accesses in Q4 after two consecutive quarters of losses.
Telefónica saw an overall increase of 3.5% year-on-year in its revenues in 2011, with the total rising to €62,837 million.
Its net profit of €5,403 million was affected by several one-off accounting impacts, which if stripped out would have seen it fall by 16.6% year-on-year.
