Da Vinci U expands over UPC DTH

February 9, 2012 11.47 Europe/London By Robert Briel

Da Vinci U is now available on the UPC DTH platform in Hungary, Czech Republic, Slovakia and Romania.

Da Vinci U broadcasts a selection of fun lectures and lively debates. Top experts, Nobel Prize winners, world’s ground-breaking inventors and thinkers, philosophers and academics from referential educational and scientific institutions including Yale, Princeton and Lindau, bring viewers the chance to learn about a large number of academic subjects.

Ferdinand Habsburg, the founder of Da Vinci Media, the independent media group, dedicated to providing audio-visual education via television, comments on the most recent partnership: “Learning is a life-long process and shouldn´t be limited to classrooms, age or a PhD degree for that matter. Together with UPC DTH we offer the best lectures from around the world, so people, who appreciate modern thinking, can achieve profound knowledge in the comfort of their homes.”

UPC DTH will be the platform used by Da Vinci Media for distribution of the Da Vinci U services throughout Europe. Magnus Ternsjo, MD of UPC DTH said in a statement: “We are pleased to be able to provide Da Vinci U as a value add for our HD customers. We also see this relationship as recognition of the value we provide to programmers in supporting their distribution of services to operators throughout Europe. This relationship serves both purposes.”

Da Vinci Media is an independent media group, dedicated to providing audio-visual education via television. It offers two television channels: Da Vinci Learning and Da Vinci U. Da Vinci Learning is available in Croatia, Bulgaria, Hungary, Macedonia, Poland, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Slovenia, Turkey, Ukraine, and Central Asia, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Romania.
