Latvian cableco makes progress

February 8, 2012 11.17 Europe/London By Chris Dziadul

The Latvian cable operator Izzi has announced the successful implementation of its 2011-year plan, which included the construction of 30% of its new fibre-optic network.

As a result, the latter can now be used by 56,000 households in the capital, Riga, along with 8,000 in Rezenke and 1,000 in Adazos.

Izzi now expects the network to reach 170,000 households by the end of this year.

Total investment in the network in Riga has been put at €10 million.
