The leading Ukrainian cable operator Volia has announced plans to introduce HD services in 13 cities this year.
Subscribers in the capital, Kiev, have been able to receive HD services since 2010 and this April they will be extended to Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Poltava, Sevastopol, Lviv and Sumy.
Donetsk will follow in May and Khmelnytski, Kherson and Cherkasy in June, with Rovno, Zaporozhye and Krivoy Rog joining at the end of the summer.
Volia’s HD package will consist of a minimum of eight channels.
The cable operator’s subscribers will have the choice of watching Euro 2012, which is being co-hosted by Ukraine and Poland, in SD or HD.
