The Czech public broadcaster CT and national commercial station Prima TV have devised a plan to reduce the influence of TV Nova in the country’s Association of Television Organisations (ATO).
According to E15, the association will discuss a proposal in February to change its statutes related to voting.
Rather than requiring unanimity, future decisions on such issues as audience measurement would only require a majority vote.
Late last year the ATO awarded Mediaresearch a contact to under electronic TV audience measurements from January 1, 2013 until December 3, 2017.
This followed a tender in which three other companies participated and despite the objections of TV Nova, which backed AC Nielsen Czech Republic, one of the failed bidders.
