Anga Cable reports 95% space booked

January 27, 2012 10.01 Europe/London By Robert Briel

The Anga Cable show has said that binding registrations have been received from 360 companies for a total of 95% of the exhibition space.

This clearly exceeds the booking situation this time last year.

Dr. Peter Charissé, managing director of Anga Cable: “Without last year´s extension of floor space we would have been fully booked by the middle of January already. ‘Smart TV’, the merging of TV and the internet on the TV screen, additionally pushes the two industries broadband and TV that we both address. As the combination of telecommunications and media has been a trade mark of ANGA Cable for a long time, we benefit especially from this trend.”

The Anga Cable Show will take place from June 12 to 14 inclusive, 2012 in Cologne (Germany). In 2011, 420 international exhibitors from 37 countries were present and 16,500 trade visitors travelled to Cologne, with 43% of the visitors coming from abroad.

This year´s key topics will be hybrid networks, Smart TV and Video on Demand. In 2012, the congress programme will provide three summit event for the first time: The TV Summit kicks off with the topic “Smart TV and Video on Demand – Chance or Risk for the Traditional TV?”. The Broadband Summit focuses on the question “Cable, Fiber and LTE – Strategies for the Broadband Roll-Out”.

Strategies and technologies for the “Connected Home” are on the agenda of the new “International Technology Summit“ to be held in English on the second day of the event. This summit will be chaired by Broadband TV News’ Julian Clover. There will be seven English language events. All congress events will be translated simultaneously (German/English).
