Sky Deutschland CEO Brian Sullivan says the 10 million viewers to the DTH platform in the fourth quarter demonstrates a constantly growing viewer interest in its programming.
The figures from audience research organisation AGF show that ten million viewers watched Sky-D programming between October and December 2011. To be included viewers would have watched at least one minute of Sky-D output, either as one of the 2.857 million subscribers to the platform, or as their guests.
“Tens of millions of viewers in the past three months is a sensational figure. They are a clear testimony to the growing interest in high-quality and exclusive programming from Sky and the enormous potential for new subscribers.”
During the last quarter special programming included the screening of all eight Harry Potter films and the launch of the new Sky Sports News HD on December 1.
