Dutch cable operator Ziggo will launch three HBO channels, HBO Go and HBO-on-demand for an all-inclusive price of €14.95.
Ziggo is launching the three channels, HBO, HBO2 and HBO3 in both HD and SD versions, as reported in Broadband TV News passim.
The monthly €14.95 subscription fee also includes the streaming service HBO Go and unlimited access to HBO On Demand, the broadcaster’s VOD service.
Programming on the channels include all the signature series from HBO, such as Boardwalk Empire, Game of Thrones and the about to be launched series Luck, Veep and Girls. Also featured are HBO mini series including Mildred Pierce and Band of Brothers, and movies such as Too Big To Fail and Cinema Verite.
HBO has also secured rights to movies from Sony Pictures and Warner Brothers. In addition, agreements with independent Dutch distributors Splendid en E-One were closed. Movies to be shown on the channel include The Social Network, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1, Pirates of the Caribbean: on Stranger Tides, Eat Pray Love and The Town.
HBO said it will bring current US series within 24 hour to the Dutch screens.
HBO Nederland is a joint venture between HBO and Ziggo. Just recently, the European Commission gave its blessing for the new company.
