The Russian cable operator ER Telecom may add 3D channels to its offer this year, according to Alla Grigorieva, the company’s spokeswoman.
Quoted by AKTR and Comnews, she also said that its digital service, which operates under the brand name Dom.ru, will be available in at last 15 cities this year and 42 by the end of 2013.
According to Grigorieva, ER Telecom’s basic programme package will consist of 100 channels, though the actual offer will vary from region to region.
There will also be a focus on increasing the number of HD channels in its offer.
Moves to introduce 3D services into Russia are currently being spearheaded by the DTH platform NTV-Plus, which already operates a proprietary channel in the format.
