Samsung has announced that is has added Netflix as the latest partner for its Smart TV App store.
People can try the service with a free, one month trial of Netflix to watch unlimited films and TV programmes streamed over the internet to their Samsung Smart TV, PC or mobile devices.
The Netflix App is currently available on Samsung’s D7000 and D8000 Smart TV series and in the coming months on 2012 Smart TV and Blu-ray players.
Samsung Smart TV users can instantly select and play films and TV programmes for the monthly price of £5.99 (€7.20) without any contracts or commitments.
Guy Kinnell, marketing director for TV, Samsung UK said in a statement: “Our partnership with Netflix is the latest in our commitment to deliver a variety of top-quality video services to our customers. With multiple methods of payment available across our raft of entertainment Apps, the new Netflix Smart TV App provides significant value to viewers who love movies and TV.”
“Samsung Smart TVs will offer Netflix members in the UK a great streaming experience with an amazing variety of films and TV programmes streamed over the Internet from Netflix directly to their TV,” said Greg Peters, vice president of product development at Netflix.
Samsung Smart TVs in the UK already offer BBC iPlayer, YouTube, Teletext Holidays, Rightmove, Thomson Local, Facebook and Twitter.
