Sky Sports News has released a new app for the iPad, adding live and on-demand video content, graphics and data.
A previous app made it possible for users to watch the Sky Sports News channel by launching a separate mobile TV app. This can now be done live through the new version. It is also possible to tune into the dedicated Sky Sports News radio.
There are dedicated home pages for all major sports, including football, rugby and cricket, which collect together all the major stories of the day, alongside the latest fixtures, results and standings. Other features include instant coverage of the latest breaking news as soon as the app is launched, and a Latest News Panel that appears along the right hand side of screen.
“We aim to be the ultimate sports news service for our customers, and thanks to this new app we can provide them with the latest sports news and in-depth coverage, wherever they happen to be,” said Andy Cairns, executive editor, Sky Sports News.
In line with Sky’s pricing policy the App is available through the Apple App Store, free for Sky subscribers, and £4.99 per month through In-App Purchase.
