Shane O’Neill, SVP and chief strategy officer, Liberty Global and president of subsidiary Chellomedia Services Limited, resigned from his posts as of December 30, 2011, according to a SEC filing.
During his tenure, the 49-year-old oversaw Liberty Global’s strategic planning, mergers and acquisitions and corporate development activities.
In addition, O’Neill was president of Chellomedia, Liberty Global’s content division, and was responsible for LGI Ventures, the group’s investment arm.
O’Neill has been instrumental in determining and executing the strategy that has resulted in the highly successful turnaround of UPC Broadband division, which comprises Liberty Global’s core European cable businesses.
