The Czech MTG-backed commercial broadcaster Prima TV is to dispose of its regional studios, which together constitute a network known as R1.
Quoting Mark Singer, the head of Prima TV, E15 reports that those based in Liberec (Genus TV), Plzen (Zak TV) and Olomouc (TV Morava) will be sold, while a fourth (TV Lyra, in Usti nad Labem) is to be closed.
R1 has already ceased broadcasting programming from TV Vridlo in Karlovy Vary and Dakr in Chomutov.
The move follows Prima TV’s controversial decision to stop sharing frequencies with the Regional Television Authority (RTA) from the beginning of 2012.
