Prospective bidders are lining up to buy the Bulgarian incumbent telco BTC, which operates under the brand name Vivacom.
Sofia Echo reports those interested include Türk Telekom, Turkcell, the investment fund Expat and a London-based financial investor.
Expat is owned by Nikolai Vassilev, a former government minister, while the financial investor is believed to be linked to Tsvetan Vassilev, the main shareholder in Bulgaria’s Corporate Commercial Bank (Corpbank).
Tsvetan Vassilev previously acquired a 50% stake in BTC’s national transmission company NURTS on behalf of a Cyprus-registered company named Mancelord Limited.
BTC has undergone a number of ownership changes in the last few years and its interests include a DTH platform named Vivacom TV.
