The German movie channel Anixe and music channel iMusic will take the DVB-T slot vacated by Bible TV in the Rhine-Main area in Germany.
The media authority of the state of Hessen, LPR, has announced the issuing of the terrestrial licence to the two broadcasters on a channel-sharing basis.
Annixe will broadcast movies from 12noon till 8pm, while iMusic will broadcast its music programming between 8pm and 12noon.
The so-called Rhine-Main area encompasses the city of Frankfurt. DVB-T transmissions started in 2004 and currently reach a potential audience of six million viewers.
There are currently 12 public broadcasters on air and 11 private channels, including those from the RTL Group and ProSiebenSat.1, as well as QVC, Channel 21 and Tele 5. The shared Annixe/iMusic channel will be the 12th private broadcaster.
