Eurosport has launched an iPad and iPhone version of its Eurosport Player. The channel will also launch a catch-up TV service for platform operators.
The Eurosport Player was launched in 2008 and offers live streaming of Eurosport 1 and Eurosport 2 on PCs and Mac, as well as on-demand programmes. The version for tablets and phones is now available for free via the iTunes App store.
Subscription to the service costs €3.39 per month or €34.99 for a 12-month period. The app offers live streaming, on-demand videos and an EPG including an alert service.
In addition, the Eurosport Player also offer multi-camera coverage of major events, live streaming of some events that are not carried on the broadcast channels and the latest sports news.
Eurosport also plans to offer a catch-up TV service for platforms, which will give access to on-demand programming. The Player already gives access to over 5,000 hours of on-demand programming, with 150 new videos added each month.
