Ziggo has released a new version of its popular Ziggo TV app for the iPad. The update allows live viewing of the ten most-watched Dutch channels ‘in almost HD quality’.
The ten channels are the main ones from the three big broadcasting groups, the public broadcasters, RTL and SBS.
The available channels are Nederland 1, Nederland 2, Nederland 3, RTL 4, RTL 5, RTL 7, RTL8, Net 5, Veronica and SBSB6.
The app is free but to be able to watch live TV, the user must have broadband internet access from Ziggo.
“Our ultimate goal is to bring television and video on demand at any convenient screen available,” said Marcel Nijhoff commercial director of Ziggo, in a statement. “Customers want to watch TV when it suits them and on the screen and which they have in front of them. Not only on television but also on their tablet or on their smart phone. And preferably in high image quality. With this launch we move another step in this direction.”
Compared to the previous version the Ziggo TV app for the iPad version 2.0 includes a new home page, a faster loading TV Guide and an on-demand catalogue expanded with series and music movies.
