Vestel and Beesmart have announced a partnership to bring Beesmart middleware and services to Vestel set-top boxes and jointly drive the development of applications and services.
Beesmart middleware and services has been deployed for numerous service providers running advanced interactive TV services. Vestel, as a major player in consumer electronics develops its own STB platform with Beesmart middleware to meet strong market demands.
“Beesmart’s experience and knowledge of the IP STB industry made them an ideal partner to us,” said Hakan Kutlu, deputy general manager responsible for marketing at Vestel. “Consumers want user-friendly solutions for IPTV content in their living rooms. With Beesmart middleware, Vestel set-top boxes will increase technology and innovation to meet consumer demands.”

The first Vestel STB with Beesmart middleware was launched in Q4 2011, with further applications and services available on STBs and connected TVs to be introduced in 2012.
