On Thursday, December 1, at 12.45 o’clock the new Austrian private channel ATV2 will launch.
The new station will offer a programming to complement that of the first ATV channel, focussing on entertainment and information. Part of the menu will be original Austrian in-house productions, successful movies and series.
Ludwig Bauer, ATV managing director, said in statement: “After years of construction work we’ve done it, making the ATV channel a strong brand. Now it is time to expand the brand at the time when Austrians watch more TV than ever before – on different platforms and channels. We want to be part of that with an additional attractive offer. ATV2 will offer a full programme with top movies and series as well as with culture such as opera performances.”
The new channel will be available on digital satellite DTH (free-to-view requiring the ORF smart card or Sky Austria smart card) and on cable.
A new website, at2.at, will also come live offering VOD programming and catch-up TV services.
