The German 24/7 weather channel Deutsches Wetter Fernsehen (DWF) has launched on the Astra satellite position of 19.2 degrees East with free-to-air broadcasts.
The channel originates from a studio in Munch and has been ‘on air’ since 2004. Until now, distribution was solely on cable and IPTV platforms including all major nets, Kabel Deutschland KDG, Unitymedia and Kabel BW.
The channel was launched by Manfred Klemann, who is also managing director of Wetter Fernsehen GmbH and chairman of Wetter.com AG, a compnay which is owned for 73% by SevenOne Intermedia, a subsidiary of ProSiebenSat.1.
