Mes Services TV launches HbbTV pilot

November 28, 2011 11.21 Europe/London By Robert Briel

AFDESI has launched its Mes Services TV bouquet of HbbTV services in Burgundy on the DTT transmitter in Auxerre.

The CSA issued the experimental licence on March 30 and the pilot has now gone live with the first bunch of interactive TV services on DTT.

Branded Mes Services TV, this pilot offers a line up of applications exclusively produced for television screens. AFDESI (the Association for the Development of Enhanced TV Services and Interactivity) will take this opportunity to test an open, neutral and independent interactive TV concept to offer consumers “more creativity and diversity.”

Content producers will as well be able to test the viability of such concept on DTT during the test.

Mes Services TV offers a variety of services including entertainment, games, news, practical information and public services. Among the participants are Cadremploi.TV (job offers), Equidia, L’Equipe, mySkreen, T-Seniority, Geste (representing the whole French press) Eco TV, France 24, Gong (animation and video games network), Groupe Altran, Groupe Casino (supermarkets), La Chaîne Météo, LifeStyle, Météonews.TV, RFI, TV5 Monde, Guide TV, PMU betting, Info Traffic and more.

Mes Services TV uses the HbbTV standard. Technical partners include Loewe, Haier, Vestel, Altran, Aslorg, ACCESS, HyperPanel Lab, TDF (TeleDiffusion de France, the transmitter company), Visiware, Atos Worldline, Airweb, Backelite, Dotscreen, Kreactive, Visiware, and others.
