The French media authority CSA has authorised the TDF broadcast transmitter company to carry out DVB-T2 tests in the city of Rennes.
The pilot started on October 20, but the CSA has just published its decision.
The tests will be carried out on UHF channel 43 from two transmitter sites, Rennes- Cesson Sevigne and Rennes-January, for a period of six months.
One of the aims seems to be to test single frequency networks. The news comes at the same time, when Albertis Telecom also has launched a DVB-T2 pilot in Barcelona.
