The Hungarian regulatory authority NMHH has indicated that it is willing to reduce the fees it currently charges to local TV stations.
The NMHH has developed a substantive dialogue with the National Association of Independent Television (HTOE), with the two bodies now holding general meetings twice a year.
At the latest such meeting, which was held last week, the NMHH said it is considering reducing the fees, which also apply to regional radio services, from 2012.
However, it reminded local TV stations to resubmit applications for licences, as their current ones will expire at the end of this year. The HTOE currently has 87 full and seven associate members.
It also has four individual members.
