Canal+ held its audience share at 4.5% in France as the pay-TV group added 140,000 over the 12-month period to reach 5.4 million subscribers as of September 30, 2011.
The successful performance was attributed to a 10% increase in new subscribers and a stable churn rate.
Société d’Edition de Canal Plus reported consolidated revenues of €1,376 million for the first nine months of 2011, up 3.2% from the prior-year period.
Canal+ France’s revenues increased by 1.8% to €3,016 million. Canal+ Group’s EBITA stood at €732 million for the first nine months of 2011, compared to €760 million year-on-year.
Canalplus.fr is now among France’s most-viewed websites recording 51.7 video views in September. Canalplus.fr also recorded 8.9 million unique visitors, a 71% increase from September 2010, and 83.6 million page views (up 99%).
Canalplay Infinity, the Canal+’ unlimited subscription video on demand service, was launched on the SFR’s Neufbox TV, touchpads and smartphones.
