The leading Czech broadcaster TV Nova is unlikely to charge viewers to receive a HD version of its flagship channel distributed by DVB-T2.
However, in a wide-ranging interview with Digizone, the company’s CEO Jan Andrusko added that TV Nova might do so for other Nova HD channels.
At present, the HD version of TV Nova is available to cable and DTH viewers in the Czech Republic, though has an audience share of only around 3%.
The Czech Republic became the latest country to in CEE to complete ASO on November 11, following the likes of Slovenia, Croatia, Estonia and Latvia.
However, the last analogue transmitters are expected to be switched off in mid-2012.
