Hungary ended the third quarter with 2,027,000 fixed access broadband subscriptions, with xDSL (797,663) running almost neck-and-neck with cable (802,312).
According to data published by the regulator NMHH, DOCSIS 3.0 take-up also continues to grow in the country, with 127,093 cable subscriptions accessing services via the standard as of the end of September.
The number of FTTx subscriptions meanwhile stood at 247,307.
The incumbent telco T-Home (Magyar Telekom) claimed the largest market share in the fixed broadband sector in Q3 (34.7%), followed by UPC (21.0%), Digi (12.1%) and Invitel (9.9%).
T-Home was also the market leader in the voice sector (62.9%), followed by Invitel (12.8%) and UPC (10.5%).
