Netgem secures Polish client

November 8, 2011 22.51 Europe/London By Chris Dziadul

The Polish alternative carrier Netia has provided details about its new IPTV service, which is known as Telewizja Osobista (‘Personal Television’) and employs technology supplied by Netgem.

The service can be received with Netgem’s Netia Player, a hybrid DTT/internet set-top box with Netgem middleware, and gives access to a complete and attractive TV package.

Viewers can also access internet services such as YouTube, Facebook, Gazeta.pl and Plotek, along with VOD offers, including ipla, Kinoplex and HBO GO.

Netia regards HBO GO as a USP of Telewizja Osobista and the on demand service will be available on TV screens, as well as PCs, tablets and smartphones.

Netia is providing HBO GO with internet access for PLN24.90 (€5.70) a month, while HBO GO TV, or HBO GO and Netia Player, costs PLN29.90 a month after an initial payment of PLN1 for the first month.
