Poland’s competition authority UOKiK has fined the cable operators UPC Polska and Multimedia Polska for failing to inform subscribers about changes in their offers in sufficient time.
In a statement, the authority says the level of fines it has imposed – PLN379,658 (€85,970) in the case of UPC Polska and PLN208,254 for Multimedia Polska – reflect the fact that both ceased the practice and cooperated with the UOKiK once its investigation got under way.
It adds that its decision is not final, with Multimedia Polska having already launched a legal challenge and UPC Polska still entitled to do so.
Earlier this autumn, the UOKiK also fined Vectra, Poland’s second largest cable operator, PLN486,254 for failing to keep its customers informed about changes in its offer.
