France’s Sagemcom has signed an agreement with the leading Russian telco Rostelecom.
Under it, the two companies will jointly develop consumer devices, under the brand name Rostelecom, for the reception of broadband internet and digital TV services.
The deal was finalised at ITU Telecom World 2011 and signed by Aleksandr Provotorov, the president of Rostelecom, and Jean-Luc Guérit, the VP sales and brands management at Sagem Wireless, in the presence of Igor Shchegolev, Russia’s minister of communications.
Sagemcom has had a presence in Russia since 2008.
