The Polish incumbent telco Telekomunikacja Polska (TPSA) ended the third quarter with 615,000 subscribers to its TV services.
This was 23,000 more than the previous quarter and 118,000 more than in the same period last year.
However, while its DTH service continues to grow in popularity, ending Q3 with 506,000 subscribers, its IPTV offer has reached a plateau, the 109,000 customers it had at the end of Q3 being 2,000 down on Q2, when the figure was identical to that at the beginning of last year.
As of the end of this September, 137,000 of the telco’s TV subscribers opted for pay-TV packages, and of these 7,000 for those offered by the DTH platform n.
TPSA had revenues of PLN3,679 million (€841.31 million) in the third quarter, down 3.8% on a year earlier.
EBITDA was also, at PLN1,402 million, 3.8% lower than a year earlier, while its net profit of PLN376 million contrasted with a loss of PLN748 million in Q3 2010.
