Cisco is to expand its set-top box manufacturing activities in Russia.
In a statement, the company says that a global manufacturer located in the city of Tver will produce Cisco boxes, enabling the transmission of video content and new television services for IPTV networks.
It adds that the pilot batch of Cisco boxes – ISB2230 and ISB2200, with and without hard drives respectively – were tested this September.
The first large consignment of the product will be manufactured this month for Vimpelcom, which uses the Beeline brand for its IPTV service.
