Walt Disney Corporation has entered into a joint venture with Channel One, Russia’s leading broadcaster.
According to Kommersant, it has already started its activities, working on a TV series for young people called After School that should appear on Channel One in the autumn of 2012.
Channel One is already the fourth largest film producer in Russia and receives financial assistance, along with six other companies, from the State Fund.
Disney’s only production to date in Russia was a movie named Book of Masters, produced for around $8 million (€5.07 million) and release in 2009, which made $10.8 million in Russia.
