German cable operator Kabel BW says it has now the largest number of HD channels available on any cable network in the country following the addition of Nat Geo Wild HD.
Since the beginning of the year, the cabler has added ten HD channels, both in its free-to-air and premium TV offers.
“With 40 HD channels we now offer the largest number of HD channels in Germany, our on-demand area, the Kabel BW Videothek, also offers a lot of HD content. This should be clear: cable is the ideal distribution medium for HD content,” said Stefan Beberweil, head of product management at Kabel BW. “The newly launched HD channel Nat Geo Wild HD is part of the pay-TV services from Sky, which Kabel BW customers can book directly with us, with or without high-speed internet and telephony in our CleverKabel 50 Sky bundle.”
The HD versions of six public and private channels such as ARD Das Erste, ZDF and Arte are available at no additional charge, while the channels from private broadcasters RTL, ProSiebenSat.1 and Sport1 HD require an additional subscription the MeinTV HD Plus package for €3.90 monthly.
The MeinTV HD bouquet offers 13 additional HD channels as well as 13 HD channels from Sky.
