ProSiebenSat.1 is expanding the offer of its Maxdome VOD service by adding 500 ntitles through a new deal with Disney Germany.
The agreement covers children’s and family TV programmes and feature films, which will be available on a transactional basis and within the subscription package.
The deal covers current episodes of Disney Channel series, following their TV broadcast, with titles such as Hannah Montana and Wizards of Waverly Place. Also included are Disney Junior series such as Handy Manny. Movie titles include Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides and a large number of movies from the Disney film archive.
Christoph Bellmer, chairman of the management board of Maxdome, said in a statement: “The agreement with Disney represents an important strategic step for us. It will allow us to further expand our portfolio with high-quality children’s programming and feature films.”
Maxdome is owned by ProSiebenSat.1 and claims to be Germany’s biggest VOD service with an offer of 35,000 film and TV titles. The service is available online on the computer as well as on dedicated Maxdome set-top boxes and selected Connected TVs.
