IP&TV Forum EurAsiaEastEurope 2011 – ISTANBUL. The Turkish operator TTNET has implemented a four-screen strategy and has OTT next on its agenda.
According to Yaman Alpata, the company’s digital media marketing director, the company recently started marketing a four-screen bundle for TL29.90 (€11.93) a month, having added mobile TV and tablets to its existing web TV and IPTV services.
Its web TV service was launched in February 2010 and currently has over one million subscribers, its growth having been boosted by an early strategy of offering it for only TL1 a month.
TTNET’s IPTV offer, on the other hand, made its debut in February this year and now has around 30,000 subscribers.
By introducing OTT, TTNET hopes to reach the many potential subscribers who at present cannot receive its IPTV service.
The company has over 6 million broadband customers, around 2.5 million of who can theoretically receive IPTV.
TTNET is working with Vestel and other companies in the connected TV space and also looking at various OTT set-top box options.
