Time Warner and Vivendi have emerged as the frontrunners to take over Poland’s TVN group.
Agency reports say that they will shortly table bids for the majority stake in TVN, believed to be worth in excess of $800 million (€586.9 million).
Time Warner, which is already a shareholder in the regional media company CME, is believed to be the favourite to take over TVN.
At the same time, Bertelsmann is understood to have dropped out of the race to buy TVN, whose assets include the DTH platform n.
Separately, Wirtualne Media reports that Deutsche Telekom is interested in establishing a presence in the Polish cable market, perhaps by acquiring either Vectra or Multimedia Polska, the number two and three operators, should they be put up for sale.
