Spain ended July with 10,895,022 fixed broadband connections, or 6.3% more than a year earlier, according to data published by the regulator CMT.
DSL accounted for the majority (8,762,041, up 5.4% year-on-year), and of these Telefónica claimed the most (5,416,427, -1.4%).
Although the number of cable modems grew by an impressive 6.1% year-on-year to 2,019,722, the real increase was seen in the still relative new FTTH sector, which increased by 211.2% year-on-year to 113,259 connections.
