The leading Ukrainian cable operator Volia has invested over UAH10 million (€871,750) in the upgrade of its network in Lviv, according to Nikolai Muzala, its director in the city.
Quoted by HighTech.Expert and Mediasat, he added that the money had been directed towards the purchase of new technical equipment for the deployment of DOCSIS 3.0, as well as the development of network infrastructure.
DOCSIS 3.0 has been operational in Lviv since the beginning of this month, giving subscribers internet access at speeds of up to 150 Mbps.
Volia had already introduced DOCSIS 3.0 services in Kiev and Sevastopol earlier and plans to make them available in two more cities before the end of the year.
