Tricolor introduces radio package

September 1, 2011 10.07 Europe/London By Chris Dziadul

The leading Russian DTH platform Tricolor TV will start offering its subscribers a package of radio stations from September 5.

Quoted by AKTR and ComNews, Pavel Basov, its commercial and strategic business development director, said that the package will initially consist of 20 channels, with the number rising to 40-50 by the end of the year and 80 in 2012.

Although the package, which will be available in the European part of Russia, will initially be free, a charge will be imposed in September next year.

The package will include stations supplied by a company named the Russian Media Group and will cost Tricolor TV €2 million a year to distribute.

Tricolor’s services are currently received in over 8.5 million homes.
