Viacom appoints Macky Drese

August 17, 2011 11.07 Europe/London By Robert Briel

Viacom International Media Networks (VIMN) has been named Macky Drese  as VP of international sales, VBSI, Viacom’s in-house brand solutions sales business focusing on global and multinational accounts.

The news was announced by Antonio Canto, SVP VBSI, Viacom International Media Networks. Drese will report into Canto and will be based in London. “We are delighted to welcome Macky back into VIMN family. This appointment builds on the huge momentum and success we have achieved in Germany over the past few months,” commented Canto. “Macky’s strong experience in creating and selling large scale brand solutions and events, as well as his stellar understanding of the business make him the perfect addition to our team.”

Drese will work closely with the local German Viacom Brand Solutions team headed by SVP Viacom Brand Solutions, deputy general manager MTV Networks Jin Choi, and will be responsible for further developing opportunities to grow VBSI’s revenues, and for strengthening key client relationships.

Commented Drese: “VIMN continues to lead the way when it comes to providing innovative 360 degree solutions for clients wanting to target the very coveted millennial demographic. I am delighted to be returning to VBSI to be part of a team focusing on creating new, customized and strategic offerings around our exciting brands and compelling content.”

Drese takes this role after his position at MCBX as managing director. Before MCBX, Drese was a managing partner at All The Worlds, a JV with Universal Music, established to create global brand-led live music events and content platforms. Drese returns to VIMN after 4 years, having previously worked at the organisation for 7 years.
