Hauppauge has introduced WinTV Extend for the iPad, a TV application that allows the watching of live TV from a Hauppauge TV tuner or the playback of recordings made with the Hauppauge tuner.
“WinTV Extend for the iPad will allow you to watch all of the TV channels you can receive on your Hauppauge TV tuner. If you have recorded any TV channels with the tuner, you can also watch these TV programs on your iPad,” the manufacturer said.
To use WinTV Extend for the iPad, people need the WinTV Extend for the iPad application (a download from the Apple App Store), a PC that has a Hauppauge TV tuner installed and the WinTV Extend Server application installed on the PC.
WinTV Extend runs on Windows-based PCs and currently does not run on a Mac, though TV from WinTV Extend can be watched on a Mac. People using a Mac or a PC, can watch live TV from the WinTV Extend Server through a browser (Safari recommended on the Mac) and a Flash video player.
WinTV v7.2 with the WinTV Extend Server is available from the Hauppauge webstore at a cost of $9.95 (€6.90).
