IBC 2011 Hall. 5 Stand 5.A17. Thomson Video Networks, the headend and network management vendor spun-out of the former Thomson Grass Valley, is bringing its new convergent TV and over-the-top solution, as well as a new Multichannel HD encoder for DTH satellite services, to the RAI Centre. They come in addition to its existing range of DVB-T2 headends, MPEG encoders and playout servers.
The new ViBE VS7000 video system is a fully integrated IP video solution for convergent applications such as web TV and over-the-top services delivery, traditional IPTV and IP/cable delivery. According to Thomson, it ‘combines all major audio/video codecs, the latest adaptive streaming formats, and a resilient IT platform for native redundancy and scalability’.
Thomson’s new ViBE EM4000 Multichannel HD Encoder incorporates a substantially more powerful evolution of Thomson’s Mustang compression engine to deliver significant operational cost savings through better use of satellite or terrestrial bandwidth.
