Media Group Ukraine has filed applications to distribute five channels on the country’s DTT network, which will make its debut next month.
According to Mediasat, they include Kinotochka, Novosti, NLO-TV and Sport, all of which are understood to be new services.
Media Group Ukraine also announced plans to launch a movie channel last year, though it has yet to make its debut and various options are apparently now being considered.
Ukraine’s first four multiplexes (MX-1, MX-2, MX-3 and MX-5) will be operated by Zeonbud and a total of 59 applications have been received for the 28 channels they will distribute.
The bids will be considered today (August 15).
Media Group Ukraine currently operates a national channel named Ukraina, along with a regional service (Donbass) and two thematic channels (Football and Football+). It also has a horizontal portal named tochka.net.
Ukraina had an average share of 11.27% and rating of 2% in the first quarter of this year, according to GfKUkraine.
