The subscription DTT service MinDig TV Extra is becoming an increasingly important player in Hungary’s TV landscape.
Data published by the regulator NMHH shows that the service, which is operated by Antenna Hungária alongside a free DTT service named MinDig TV, claimed 31,388 subscribers and a 3.4% market share among wireless broadcasting services as of the end of June.
Digi was the market leader in the latter sector with a 43.3% share, followed by T-Home (28.4%) and UPC Direct (21.6%).
UPC was the leading provider of subscription TV services irrespective of technology (25.8%), followed by Digi (22.9%) and T-Home (21.2%).
The total number of digital cable and IPTV subscription stood at 616,760, while the total number of digital subscriptions (all technologies) stood at 1,541,180.
