Andrea Zappia is moving back to Sky Italia in the role of chief executive officer. He replaces Tom Mockridge who left the pay platform in July to become chief executive of News International in the light of the phonehacking scandal.
Zappia spent seven years at Sky Italia, latterly as vice president, sports channels, before joining joined BSkyB in February 2010 to lead the company’s sales, marketing and customer operations teams. He was earlier responsible for customer acquisition and brand marketing within Sky Italia.

Zappia has also held a variety of senior marketing roles at Ferrari, Fila and Procter & Gamble.
