The Polish incumbent telco Telekomunikacja Polska (TP) ended the second quarter with the France Telecom venture recording 592,000 TV subscribers, or 30.1% more than in the same period last year.
However, while the number receiving its DTH service continued to grow – 482,000, as opposed to 464,000 three months earlier and 340,000 at the end of Q2 2010 – those opting for its IPTV service has started to fall.
Indeed, it stood at 111,000 in Q2, down from 113,000 three months earlier and at the same level as in Q1 2010.
The number of TV customers receiving pay-TV packages meanwhile stood at 154,000 in Q2, up by only 1,000 on the previous quarter but almost double the 79,000 recorded a year earlier.
TP’s VoIP and Livebox client bases meanwhile stood at 134,000 and 782,000 respectively, and ARPU per month, for broadband and TV, PLN53.1 (€13.3).
Significantly, Q2 was the fourth consecutive quarter in which APRU had fallen.
TP is the leading provider of IPTV services in Poland, while its DTH platform is one of five currently operating in the country.
