Recent improvements in the consumer offer from KPN have resulted in the addition of a further 56,000 new TV subscribers in the second quarter.However, while an additional 56,000 homes were added to the IPTV service to reach 416,000, terrestrial platform Digitenne lost 14,000 homes, ending the quarter on 868,000.
As reported in Broadband TV News, KPN is now offering two tuners as the standard for its KPN Interactieve TV service, which has helped accelerate the Dutch telco’s restructuring plan. Further improvements such as a new user-interface, more content and additional features will be introduced in the coming quarters. Improved speeds of 40 Mbps will help provide multiroom PVR.
TV ARPU increased by 22% year-on-year to €11 in the second quarter.
As of Q3 KPN’s Telfort brand will also offer IPTV.
