Romtelecom is to stop all free reception of its IPTV service Dolce Interactiv from next month.
Quoted in ZF, Ovidiu Ghiman, the commercial director for the company’s residential segment, said that viewers would either have to relinquish the service or move to packages costing between €4.9 and €9.9 a month excluding VAT.
The move is likely to affect over 10,000 of the 35,000 homes currently receiving the service, which was launched at the end of 2009.
Aside from Dolce Interactiv, Romtelecom operates Dolce, the second most popular DTH platform in Romania, which has over 900,000 subscribers.
